NOTICE: BAYOU BLACK FRESH WATER RESERVOIR
TPCW is addressing concerns regarding excessive vegetation in our Bayou Black Fresh Water Reservoir - Waterproof Weir to Jim Bowie Park. TPCW retained Chem Spray South, certified contractors, to begin spraying to kill aquatic vegetation in Bayou Black - Waterproof Weir to Jim Bowie Park. Chem Spray South has been safely spraying aquatic vegetation for years using only NSF61 approved chemicals. In preparation for this work to start Thursday, March 26, our City Plant on-site reservoir has been filled to capacity, and we have switched our intake to the GIWW. We will be able to switch back to Bayou Black if needed next Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
